Create And Publish An Event

Set up an event that participants can find and follow.

Examples use golf. For another sport, choose its available rules, scoring, and exercises. Golf-only features are noted in the steps.

Start A New Event. In the Competitions menu, open Events (1) and choose Create event (2). A guided setup opens with four short steps, and you can return to the event later from the same Events list.

Add The Essentials. Enter the Event name, Sport, Event date and Location; the organizing club and the short description are optional (1). Use a name participants will recognize, then choose Next (2).

Choose The Format. Choose whether individuals or teams compete (1) and how the winner is decided, such as Ranking (2); only formats that suit the sport are offered. Enter Maximum participants (3) and choose Next (4).

Plan The Day And Access. In this golf example, select the Golf Course (1) and check the Start time and Estimated round duration (2). Choose who can join: Public registration, Club members or Invite only (3), then choose Next (4).

Review And Create. Check the summary of name, sport, date, format, schedule, capacity and location (1). Choose Create event (2), and the event page opens, still private, so you can finish the setup.

Open The Competition. On the event page, open the Competitions tab (1) and select the competition in the Competition list (2). The guided setup creates the first competition; this demo event also has a second one, added with Add competition.

Check Competition Details. In Competition Details, check the competition Name (1), its Sport and its Status (2). If you change something, choose Save in the unsaved changes bar that appears at the top of the page.

Follow The Readiness Checklist. The Details tab lists what is ready and what still needs work. When the event is ready to be seen, choose Publish event under Next recommended action (1).

Choose Who Can See It. Choose who can see the event page: Private, Anyone with the link, or Public (1). Choose Publish event (2): the event moves from Planned to Active, and on the day you choose Go live so scores can be entered.
